For IB teachers

AI that speaks PYP, MYP and DP

xedu knows the difference between a criterion, a strand and a transdisciplinary theme. Thoth plans and writes in your programme’s terms, and for MYP and PYP it marks against the criteria and strands too. You approve every mark.

What’s built in

How xedu handles your courses

  • Primary Years Programme

Classes from PYP1 upwards, named to match your school’s own year groups. Assignments are built around a transdisciplinary theme, subject strands and ATL skills, and marked against the strands. Teachers also get weekly check-ins, observations and AI insights on how each child is doing.

  • Middle Years Programme

Classes from MYP1 to MYP5. Tasks and rubrics are generated per criterion, A to D, with sub-strands and the 0–8 levels. ATL skills can be assessed on their own or alongside the criteria. Language Acquisition phases are supported, and lesson plans draw on the class’s own rubric.

  • Diploma Programme

DP1 and DP2 classes, at HL or SL, plus TOK, the Extended Essay and CAS. Thoth plans and writes in DP terms for your subject. Marking is points-based for DP today.

Briefs teachers give Thoth

A sentence is enough. These are the kind of requests that turn into a finished plan or task.

  • MYP · Sciences

“An MYP3 task for Criterion B on reaction rates, where students design a fair test, with a rubric for each sub-strand.”

  • MYP · Language & Literature

“A six-week MYP5 unit on persuasive writing, ending in an assessment for Criteria C and D.”

  • PYP · How we organize ourselves

“A PYP5 provocation and three follow-up activities on how communities share resources, with the ATL skills each one builds.”

  • DP · Biology HL

“A DP1 lesson on enzyme kinetics with a short data-analysis task and homework questions.”

What isn’t built yet

DP grading on the 1–7 scale, internal assessment criteria and TOK/EE grades aren’t built yet, so DP work is marked in points for now. The unit planner is the same for every programme, so it doesn’t have dedicated fields for a statement of inquiry or a PYP unit of inquiry.

Questions

Common questions

Does xedu mark against MYP criteria?

Yes. With AI grading, for MYP classes Thoth suggests a level from 0 to 8 for each criterion or sub-strand, explains why against the rubric, and drafts feedback. You confirm or change every mark before it becomes a grade.

Can it assess ATL skills?

Yes. In the assignment generator, for MYP you can create an ATL-only task or one that assesses ATL skills alongside subject criteria, and PYP tasks name the ATL skills each activity builds.

Is xedu an IB-authorised product?

No. xedu is independent and isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by the International Baccalaureate. It works with the programme structure your school already uses.

We run IB alongside IGCSE or A-level. Does that work?

Yes. Each class has its own curriculum, so one school can run MYP, DP, IGCSE and A-level classes side by side.
